Extend your hands to my people

Finding Inspiration in Every Turn

On June 17, 2025
A massive supercell made its way along the Oklahoma-Kansas border. The supercell had the capability of producing massive hail. As the storm moved east, it gathered strength with the heat that was coming in from Oklahoma and the cold that was coming down from the north.

The storm made its way as high as 45,000 feet in the air, and once it was ready to drop the hail, it dropped it right over Ark City, Kansas.

Golf ball, tennis ball, baseball, softball, and even grapefruit-sized hail hit the town. Hail was so big that it went through decking and actually into people’s attics.

Our founder, CEO, and President Jeremy Conn attended college at Independence Community College in Independence, Kansas, right out of high school. Jeremy's longtime friend and college roommate, Doug Hovey, lives in Ark City, Kansas.

Mr. Conn put in a personal phone call to his friend as he was watching the storm from his location in Chelsea, Oklahoma. He was diligently looking through his radar trying to locate where that storm was, and although it may have been beautiful from two hours away, it was not quite that beautiful directly underneath that supercell. He found the location, and he put in a phone call.

One thing about our CEO, Jeremy Conn, is that he generally cares for people. He doesn’t necessarily see the generating revenue side of anything. He mostly sees the ability to reach hands out as he’s been instructed by the Lord, as he is to extend his hands to God's people. Once he had learned that the storm had affected his longtime friend, he didn’t even hesitate. He put a late text message into our Executive Field Advisor Clayton Waltrip. He said "Clayton, pack your bags for a few days. We’re heading to Kansas". With that same enthusiasm, Clayton agreed and was ready to go.

With a full day’s work already coming up and well over 14 jobs operating at the same time the very next day, he didn’t hesitate. He showed up to meet his friends, and the damage is devastating. So instead of just going up and looking at it, he’s taken an extra step and extreme measure by getting roofing registration and licensing in Kansas and getting registered with the Ark City, Kansas City Hall. Take a look of some of the pictures of this dangerous and damaging storm and realize this could happen anywhere.

Mr. Conn spends countless hours looking through radars, always staying about 3 to 5 days ahead of storms. Once he realizes that the storm pattern may produce a serious problem, he is immediately on his phone posting anything he can to any community to warn that something wicked is coming, to be weather alert and to be home early. It is not uncommon for him to be on the phone for up to 8 to 10 hours contacting people personally that he knows to warn them what is fixing to happen.

He’s up at 5:30 am, and if a storm is brewing, he will stay up all night and watch it. The one thing that he does very well is he knows where people live. He generally makes it part of his everyday life to build relationships with people because he cares for them, not because he wants something from them or wants to produce business, but because he generally has a sense of love. In our very logo, the division of the company is shown with two people, one being in gold on the left and one being in blue on the right. The one in gold on the left is our company, extending our hands and kneeling and becoming more of a servant, not a contractor. The person on the right is standing in sorrow with their hands extended. If you view the logo clearly, you will see that it is the desire of this company to remove the sorrow from people, a great burden that weighs not just on our CEO but on everyone that works for C and C Roofing and Home Repair. C and C is Conn and Conn’s; Jeremy, Malachi, Eliana, and Lela are his children.

The company is built around the concept of Mark 12:30-31. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. 31 The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself. There is no commandment greater than these.
